Visiting Student Fees and Scholarships
If offered a seat in your requested elective, you must must submit a $100 non-refundable processing fee. You will have one week after accepting the rotation offer to send in the processing fee or your seat will be forfeited.
*If you attend a medical school in the state of North Carolina (Campbell, Duke, East Carolina, and Wake Forest) OR if you are accepting a second or third elective offer, you do not need to submit the processing fee again.
The total cost per four-week clinical elective, including the $500 deposit, is $2,500 total in addition to the non-refundable $100 application/processing fee. The application fee must only be paid once per student, the application will be valid until student graduates from medical school. It is one-time fee, regardless of the number of requested electives or a change to your application.
When offered an elective by the Visiting Student Coordinator, in order to accept the offer, you will be required to pay $500 of the total $2,500 elective fee within a week of the offer to secure your placement. Your payment schedule will be the following:
- When applying, you will pay your $100 application fee.
- When offered an elective spot, you must pay $500 within 1 week to accept.
- Before beginning your elective, you will pay the remaining $2,000 of your elective fee.
Payment OptionsAll fees can be paid online using a credit card. All fees must be paid prior to the start of your rotation. You will be prompted when fees are due. Only MasterCard or Visa are accepted at this time.
