Speaker Biography

David J. Berkoff MD is a Professor of Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine, as well as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Berkoff has been actively involved in research since his initial training as an Emergency Medicine resident in the Bronx in the late 1990’s. While continuing to be clinically active in both Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine, he has continued to pursue research and has published on a variety of topics including sports cardiology, diagnostic imaging, procedures, rehabilitation, and non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Berkoff has also served in multiple leadership roles, and is now the Co-Director of our newly established Sports Medicine Institute.
