Palliative Care Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator

Rev. Bailey Brislin (she/her) is Palliative Care Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator at UNC Hospitals. Bailey has degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Anthropology and Sociology and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University Divinity School. Bailey completed her training for clinical chaplaincy at UNC as the pediatric chaplain resident. She was fortunate to join the palliative care team in 2022.

As Palliative Care chaplain, she works with the adult palliative care team to provide spiritual and emotional coping support with patients and loved ones as they face serious and life changing illness. Additionally, she coordinates UNC’s Bereavement Support Services, offering grief support, education, and rituals for patients, families, and staff. Bailey’s particular areas of interest include dignifying end-of-life care, integrating mindfulness in the workplace, and trauma informed spiritual care. Bailey cherishes time spent with loved ones, exploring with her dog Olive, and cooking.
