Dr. Hunter is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with the Children’s Supportive Care Team. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Winston-Salem State University and a Master of Science in Nursing Education at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She earned a Post Masters Certificate-Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree both from Duke University.
Prior to joining the team, Dr. Hunter provided primary care pediatric services for children ranging from newborns to young adults. She also served as a clinical instructor and preceptor for undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Dr. Hunter is passionate about partnering with patients and families and empowering them to live well despite having a serious or life-limiting illness. Clinical interests include working with infants with serious illness and nursing and interprofessional education.
