Melanie Kelly is the Director for Palliative Care Services at UNC Health Care. She is a registered nurse and holds certification as a Hospice Palliative Care nurse (CHPN) through the Hospice and Palliative Care Credentialing Center. Melanie is a co-lead for the UNC Advance Care Planning Taskforce.
Melanie received her BSN from the University of Central Florida and Master’s in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. Her career has focused on caring for patients with serious illness and improving advance care planning processes. Her clinical interests include supporting patients living with serious illness and improving access to high quality palliative care. Her leadership interest and roles have included system-level work to increase palliative care’s reach and integrate palliative care principals through education and process changes.
