Dr. Leigh is a leading researcher and specialist in PCD. She is an expert in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of PCD in children and is a founding member of the NIH sponsored Genetic Disorders of Mucociliary Clearance Consortium, which has primarily focused on improving diagnosis and understanding the long term health outcomes of children and adults with PCD. Dr. Leigh regularly consults with both American and European-based institutions to develop and update clinical guidelines for assessment and management of children with PCD. She is highly involved in research to improve and develop new tools that can help in the diagnosis or evaluation of patients with PCD and other rare lung diseases.
