All about Dr. Scott!
Brycen is originally from Lucedale, Mississippi. He began his academic journey at Pearl River Community College, where he played collegiate baseball and attained an associate’s degree. He then completed his undergraduate education at Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. While in college, he was involved in volunteer activities, student recruitment, and part-time work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. After completing his undergraduate studies, Brycen transitioned directly to the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, where he discovered his passion for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. While enrolled at UMMC, he was a dedicated volunteer at the Jackson Free Clinic, founded and served as the inaugural president of the PM&R Interest Group, and conducted multispecialty research, most notably in the evolution of spasticity following traumatic brain injury. His interests within PM&R are broad, with a primary focus on sports medicine and multimodal treatments of neuromusculoskeletal pathologies, including interventional procedures. Outside of medicine, Brycen enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, weightlifting/fitness training, and trying new local food/drink spots around town. If you are looking for someone to watch, play, or talk about any sport with, he is more than happy to be of service.”
