Lightning Talk Application – 2025 Thermo Fisher Mass Spectrometry Symposium

We are now accepting applications for the Lightning Talk session at the 2025 UNC Thermo Fisher Mass Spectrometry Symposium. See the full event details. This session will highlight exciting mass spectrometry-based research and innovation happening across UNC’s campus. The event will take place on UNC’s campus, in room MBRB G-202. The top lightning talk will be awarded a prize!
Who Can Apply:
We welcome abstract submissions from:
- Graduate students
- Postdoctoral researchers
- Early-career faculty
- Core facility scientists and staff
You do not need to be using a Thermo instrument in your research to participate. All talks are welcome!
Talk Format:
- Lightning talks are expected to be ~5 minutes in length
- Presentations should focus on original research, novel applications of mass spectrometry, or methodological advances
- Talks should be accessible to a broad scientific audience
Application Deadline:
- Abstracts must be submitted by September 10, 2025
- Notification of acceptance will be sent by September 20, 2025
We encourage a diversity of presenters and topics, including:
- Emerging MS-based technologies and methods
- Application of mass spectrometry in biomedical, clinical, environmental, and other research areas
- Work performed in or supported by core facilities
