Our credit-eligible Grand Rounds series typically runs every 2nd, 4th, and 5th Wednesday of the month between September and June from 2-3pm EST. Our invited speakers are a mix of clinicians and researchers from the UNC Department of Psychiatry and guest speakers from all across the country. The CME credit type is the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) and is credited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Most of our Grand Round sessions range between 1 to 1.5 credits per session.
Participating in UNC Psychiatry Grand Rounds:
Our Grand Rounds sessions are hybrid to UNC Psychiatry faculty and Residents and virtual through Zoom to all other participants. Registered participants will receive an email from our Grand Rounds Coordinator with the specific details for each session, including credit amount and zoom link, prior to each session. Virtual participants will have the same access to ask questions for the speakers as the hybrid participants.

UNC Psychiatry offer two options for external participants: a broadcast only option and a broadcast with CME option. Both options give you access to our exceptional education series with a wide range of psychiatric topics.
A portion of the proceeds support educational opportunities for UNC Psychiatry trainees and expands the resources we are able to provide for the next generation of mental health professionals.
This option is a flexible solution for organizations who wish to invest in the education of their clinicians and staff. A live stream link would be sent to a point of contact of your choosing, and that person can distribute the link as needed among your organization. While this option does not directly involve CME credit, individual clinicians seeking CME can receive credit by purchasing an ‘Individual Grand Rounds package’; the details of which are specified in the next section. This ‘Broadcast Only’ Grand Rounds option is a onetime fee of $1,500 (per season). Contact Paige Nuebel, paige_nuebel@med.unc.edu, to assist with payment should you choose to go with this option.
This option provides the same level of education as the Broadcast Only Grand Rounds with the added benefit of receiving CME credit. We offer both individual price and group prices for this option. The prices you see below include one full season of Grand Round sessions, with a CME value up to 20 credits***.
- For 75+ registrants: $300 per person ($100 savings per person)
- For 50-74 registrants: $340 per person ($60 savings per person)
- For 25-49 registrants: $360 per person ($40 savings per person)
- For 1-24 registrants: $400 per person (individual rate). Individual rate participants for the current season can register and pay with a credit card at https://go.unc.edu/psychgrandrounds

To receive CME or CE credit for a session:
CME and CE credits are available for all eligible virtual participants. In order to be eligible to claim credit for attending UNC Psychiatry Grand Rounds, attendees must:
- Attend the live virtual activity****, and
- Follow the follow-up instructions provided by our Grand Rounds Coordinator within 24 hours of the activity to register your credit with the crediting agency.
* The schedule provides general topics of discussion for each session. Our Grand Rounds Coordinator will include the presentation title and more details in the session emails. The Grand Rounds schedule is also subject to change. The Grand Rounds Coordinator will inform participants of any changes that might occur prior to the grand rounds session. Refunds will not be issued for cancelled Grand Rounds. Visit our website for an up-to-date schedule.
** ‘Youth & Family Mental Health Symposium’ and ‘Research Day’ are special events combining Grand Rounds with other learning activities. Grand Round registrants are welcome to listen to the additional activites, but eligible credit may only be given for the hour-long Grand Round presentation
*** Credit amount for a full season is up to the discretion of the Crediting Agencies. Actual eligible credits may vary.
**** Participants in the virtual Grand Rounds must use a device that registers their full name and has access to the Zoom chat feature. Abbreviated names, aliases, phone numbers, and general names such as “Bill’s iPhone” will be considered inadmissible for CME credit. Previously attended Grand Round session that were not attested within 24 hours are not eligible to receive credit.
