About
Karen Burns is a clinical social worker and Program Director for the North Carolina Psychiatry Access Line (NC-PAL and NC MATTERS). In this role, she supports a range of initiatives that aim to increase access to quality mental health services for perinatal people, children, and adolescents across North Carolina. Before joining UNC, she spent over a decade working in clinical and research settings managing large-scale initiatives in the areas of family mental health and positive youth development.
