About

Katy Sims, MD, is an adult inpatient and outpatient psychiatrist in the UNC Department of Psychiatry. She focuses on Latino mental health and works in partnership with El Futuro in Durham, NC to develop telepsychiatry programs to reach patients in rural areas. She also has interests in rural health and developmental disabilities and is working with the department to develop a rural education track to help expand access to areas of North Carolina that do not have access to mental healthcare. She is active in geriatric psychiatry care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
