About

Lisa M Herrera is a new outpatient attending working primarily at Vilcom Center. Her focus will be the treatment of mood disorders for adult patients with a focus on older aged adults. She is eager to bolster the geriatric psychiatry specialty at UNC as we welcome our first geriatric psychiatry fellow this next academic year! Her professional interests include interventional psychiatry (ECT, TMS, and ketamine), HIV psychiatry with a focus on the impact of older age populations, and clinical education including pipeline programs that encourage young minds to be interested in the importance of mental health. Her research interest includes community-based participatory research on public health concerns with the aim of bringing about positive change for communities.
