Dr. Spencer’s main interest is the clinical practice of outpatient psychiatry including diagnostic evaluation and integrated psychotherapy. This broad approach makes use of psychodynamic therapy but also cognitive/ behavior and pharmacotherapy. He supervises residents on their long-term therapy cases and makes presentations in-state and around the country to demonstrate novel ways to teach psychotherapy. In addition to his scientific papers, he has written several plays and short stories.
