About

Dr. Saha provides both inpatient care with the Addiction Medicine Consult Service and outpatient services at the STAR Clinic. She is also deeply committed to training and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows within the Addiction Medicine program. Her work in substance use disorders began in 1996, with an initial focus on justice-involved women in residential drug treatment. Before joining UNC, she owned and operated a private practice for eleven years in the Atlanta metropolitan area, where she treated patients aged twelve and older and their families for substance use disorders.

Dr. Saha’s clinical and research interests are diverse, encompassing improving justice system responses to substance use disorders, liberation psychology, mindfulness and other contemplative practices for mental well-being, harm reduction, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Beyond her medical practice, she is a certified yoga instructor, integrating meditation and medication to deliver optimized, evidence-based treatment to her patients. Dr. Saha also practices social medicine and actively contributes to organizations advocating for justice for individuals impacted by the War on Drugs in the southern United States.
