About

Susannah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist with 9+ years of post-graduate experience providing evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally humble mental health services to children, adolescents, families, and adults. She specializes as a trauma therapist who is certified in EMDR. She has documented success at improving client functioning through diverse therapeutic modalities, including CBT, ACT, DBT, Behavioral Activation, CPT, mindfulness-based self-compassion, parts work, and grief counseling. She utilizes innovative clinical interventions to effectively treat diverse mental health conditions, including depression, generalized anxiety, stress/burnout, suicidality, SIB, panic, specific phobias, insomnia, disordered eating, Bipolar Disorder, OCD, PTSD, C-PTSD, ADHD, and BPD. After graduating from Simmons University’s School of School Work in 2016, she worked as an In-Home Family Therapist in inner city Boston. Prior to joining UNC Psychiatry in June 2021, she worked as a Pediatric Clinical Social Worker at Duke Children’s Hospital.
