About

William Smith’s research focuses on ethical, policy, implementation, and behavioral economics in psychiatry,​ especially in Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) for first-episode psychosis​. Current work includes trials collaborating with various NIMH Early Psychosis Network (EPINET) sites to develop incentive and behavioral economics-based interventions to help patients maintain engagement with care during and after CSC. He also continues work in psychiatric ethics and policy broadly.
