About

Xiaoming Zeng, MD, PhD, is a research professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before joining the faculty at UNC-CH in 2020, he was a faculty member and department chair at East Carolina University. Dr. Zeng has more than 20 years of experience in health informatics education and research. He created the first online health informatics certificate program within the UNC system and led the process of establishing the MS in Health Informatics at ECU. His past researches include web accessibility for persons with a disability, public health surveillance, ICD9/ICD10 transition, and data visualization for community-level health policymaking. Dr. Zeng’s research lies at the intersection of information technology and health care delivery for better health care outcomes and system improvement.
