Highlights from his interview with Triangle Business Journal:
What motivates you in your everyday work? My clinical work, taking care of patients as an individual, performing complex transplant surgeries, seeing their good outcomes.
Why did you choose health care for a career? My older sister (five years older than me) was the first doctor in my entire family, and she had great positive influence on me while growing up. To follow in her footsteps, I chose medicine. Growing up in the middle class in India those days, engineering and medicines were perceived as the only two viable options, and because of my sister’s influence I chose medicine.
