March 05, 2010 — Dr. David Gerber, Division Chief of Abdominal Transplant Surgery, will be co-instructing Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences, this fall on Mondays from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The course, which is sponsored by the Department of Surgery, is part of UNC’s Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship, directed by the Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Dr. Gerber’s course, MEDI 212, will aim to “introduce students to basic concepts and case studies of commercial and social entrepreneurship” by “explore[ing] trends and challenges in initiating and growing a life science venture using a series of introductory lectures, guest seminars and group projects.”

Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences is open to any UNC-CH student, faculty or staff member as an independent, stand-alone course or as the life-science elective requirement for the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
