UNC Health Care receives high marks in latest US News & World Report Ratings
In the latest Best Hospital ratings, released Aug. 8 by U.S. News & World Report, UNC Hospitals is ranked as the #3 overall hospital in North Carolina and nationally ranked or recognized as high performing (among the top 10 percent) in the following clinical categories:

UNC Hospitals: Nationally-ranked Specialties

  • Ear, Nose, and Throat: #14
  • Nephrology: #20
  • Cancer: #24
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology: #28
  • Gastroenterology and GI Surgery: #30
  • Urology: #32

High Performing Specialties

  • Pulmonology
  • Neurology and Neurosurgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Rheumatology

In addition to UNC Hospitals, several other UNC Health Care hospitals were recognized:

  • UNC REX Healthcare is ranked as the #8 overall hospital in North Carolina, and nine areas at UNC REX are ranked as High Performing.
  • High Point Regional Hospital is ranked as the #17 hospital in North Carolina and recognized as High Preforming in three treatment areas.
  • Nash Health Care earned a High Performing rating in the treatment of Heart Failure.
  • Johnson Health earned a High Performing rating in the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
  • Pardee Memorial Hospital earned a High Performing rating in Knee Replacement.
