About
“I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I became dual certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in both Primary Care and Acute Care. I also pursued subspecialty training as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA), further strengthening my role in surgical care.
Originally from Maryland, I began my nursing career in the pediatric operating room, where I developed a strong foundation in surgical nursing and discovered my passion for caring for children undergoing surgery. My early experiences in the operating room shaped my clinical interests and commitment to supporting patients and families through complex surgical procedures.
After completing my graduate training, I began my career as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatric abdominal transplant surgery, where I gained valuable experience caring for children with complex surgical needs. This role further deepened my interest in surgical care and reinforced my dedication to helping pediatric patients through some of the most challenging moments of their medical journeys.
Throughout my nursing career, I have primarily worked in the operating room, gaining extensive hands-on surgical experience. I also expanded my perspective through travel nursing assignments in Tennessee and California, where I worked with diverse surgical teams and patient populations.
I have always been passionate about surgery and the unique opportunity it provides to restore health. There is something deeply meaningful about entering the operating room with a problem and leaving knowing you helped repair something that can improve a patient’s life. That sense of purpose continues to drive my dedication to pediatric surgical care.”
