Clinical and Research Interests

I have been interested in several different fields of surgery so far, but some that have stood out to me are colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and surgical oncology!

What were you looking for in a residency program?

I was looking for a place where the residents got along well with each other and the environment was supportive to trainees. I also have lived in the Chapel Hill/Durham area and love it here, so I did not want to leave!

What inspired you to become a doctor/surgeon?

What I love in particular about surgery is the creativity surgeons employ daily to help solve problems both inside and outside of the OR. I love that surgery is capable of making drastic and immediate improvements in out patients’ lives.

Favorite thing about UNC?

I think the people at UNC are incredibly nice and supportive. If you are willing to ask for help with anything, you can definitely find it here!

Fun Fact

I occasionally sew and have made several scrub caps for the OR 😊

Hobbies

I enjoy reading, exercising, and going for hikes with my dog and husband!
