Congratulations to Kristy Borawski, MD who this past May was recognized with the 2022 Nursing Staff Recognition Week “Friend of Nursing” Award.
The Friend of Nursing award was established in 2009 to recognize the collaborative relationship between Nursing and Medical Colleagues.
Through a competitive nomination process, the award identifies physicians or advanced practice providers who are considered role models for Carolina Care excellence and demonstrate continuing support for nurses and nursing.
We in the Department of Urology congratulate Dr. Borawski on the well-deserved recognition. This award is a testament to her dedication to the nursing staff and her commitment to Carolina Care excellence. We are proud to have her as part of our department and we extend our sincerest congratulations.
Honored alongside Dr. Borawski during Nursing Staff Recognition week was former Clinical Nurse Martha Pinion, who received one of the “Nurse of the Year” Awards.
Previous UNC Urology faculty members who have received the award include the current Department Chair, Dr. Matthew Nielsen, who won the award in 2017.
