UNC Urology is proud to announce that Dr. Hersh Trivedi, a current resident in the class of 2027, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Robert C. Cefalo House Officer Award. Presented annually by the UNC Health Care Medical Staff Executive Committee, this prestigious honor recognizes house officers who demonstrate exceptional academic and clinical promise, along with a commitment to compassionate patient care.

Dr. Trivedi’s selection places him among an esteemed group of UNC Urology trainees who have previously earned this recognition, including Dr. Katy Reines (2022) and Dr. Mark Ehlers (2019)—a testament to the department’s ongoing culture of clinical excellence and resident leadership.

Since beginning his training at UNC, Dr. Trivedi has distinguished himself through a combination of thoughtful clinical practice, dedication to team-based care, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered values. His impact was recognized early in his career when he received the 2022 NC Jaycee Burn Center Intern Award, which honors an intern who demonstrates exemplary commitment to compassionate patient care, teamwork, and initiative.

The Cefalo Award serves as a meaningful reflection of Dr. Trivedi’s continued growth as a clinician and colleague. We celebrate this well-earned recognition and look forward to all he will contribute throughout the remainder of his residency and beyond.
