Research & Innovation
Through partnerships with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the North Carolina Translational and Clinical Sciences (NC TraCS) Institute, the UNC School of Medicine, and other UNC research centers, the program advances studies that explore how evidence-based interventions can improve health behaviors, screening participation, and disease management for men in North Carolina and beyond.
Our goal is to generate data and insights that not only inform better clinical practice but also strengthen community-based prevention and outreach efforts across the state.
Example Research Focus Areas
- Early detection and prevention of urologic and cardiovascular disease
- Behavioral and lifestyle factors influencing men’s health outcomes
- Rural and community-based health engagement models
- Barriers to preventive screening and follow-up care
- Data-driven approaches to population health improvement
Collaborative Research Environment
Research supported by the UNC Men’s Health Program draws on the University’s nationally recognized strengths in population sciences, behavioral health, and health services research. By connecting investigators across disciplines—from urology and primary care to public health and psychology—we are developing a more complete understanding of men’s health across the lifespan.
