About

I have an academic background in economics, public health, and health services research in addition to being a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist. The topics of my prior research experience and publications include value-based care transformation and alternative payment models, surgical outcomes, cancer screening, quality, utilization and appropriateness of care, overdiagnosis and overtreatment, and shared decision-making. In addition to providing clinical care and resident education as an Assistant Professor of urology at UNC, I am a Clinical Operating Partner with Rubicon Founders. In this role, I am helping design and build transformative value-based care companies that partner with the provider community to enable and accelerate the transition to value-based care. Prior to this role, I was the Medical Director of Value Transformation at the largest commercial payer in North Carolina leading our value strategy for specialty care. My career goal is to transform the healthcare payment and delivery system to align incentives with high quality, affordable healthcare that improves the patient and provider experience.
