In conjunction with the Research Hub at the UNC Health Science Library, The Department of Urology recently published Impact Measurement Visualizations for the last 5-years of department publications.

The data summary and visualizations can be viewed on the Department of Urology’s website and feature interactive maps of our vast publication community network and breadth of publication topics.

Impact Measurement & Visualization at the UNC Health Sciences Library

The Research Hub @ The Health Sciences Library partners with the UNC-Chapel Hill community on impact measurement and visualization projects in support of research, education, and clinical care by:

  • ommunicating research impact and collaboration
  • Managing and/or tracking publications
  • Measuring and/or assessing research impact by discipline area

The HSL’s IMV specialists’ use a wide collection of resources, including Scopus, Web of Science, Journal Citation Reports, and more, to provide reporting for different purposes, including:

  • Identify patterns, trends, and gaps of unit-supported research, education or clinical care activities utilizing publication and/or other available data
  • Bibliometric analysis and visualization to provide an overview of research publications and other outputs by a specific group
  • Discover the scope and pattern of research collaborations (e.g., author collaboration, institution collaboration, and country collaboration)
