The purpose of the Alumni Council is to create an enduring relationship between members and the School of Medicine and to inculcate a sense of loyalty to the School among our alumni, faculty, and supporters.

As the alumni advisory board to the School of Medicine, the Council works to enlist support for the School from alumni; supports initiatives designed to deepen connections among alumni; aids the School in promoting its goals and commitments to the State of North Carolina; and cooperates with other groups who have a mutual interest in alumni engagement. The Council meets twice annually, once in the fall and once in the spring, and engages in conversation about how to best support the School of Medicine and our learners across the system.

We are currently accepting nominations for Medical Alumni Council members. Members serve three-year terms, renewable once, and are asked to serve on one committee and make an effort to attend our twice-annual meetings.

Spring 2026 Slate

We are pleased to share the 2026 slate. These ten individuals have been nominated by the current Executive Committee and Awards & Nominating Committee to serve terms on the Medical Alumni Council beginning in Late Spring 2026. Active members will vote on the slate of candidates at the upcoming annual meeting of the Medical Alumni Association on April 17, 2026, a part of Spring Medical Alumni Weekend.
