Community Preceptors in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and OBGYN

Community-based NC primary care physician Preceptors play an important role in the clinical training and mentoring of our medical students.

Community Preceptors are needed for MS1 and MS2 Clinical Weeks for the (PCC) Patient Centered Care Course (two, one-week clinical rotations). They are also needed for the MS3 (CBLC) Community Based Longitudinal Care course (four months, two days/week with internal/family medicine preceptors and one day a week with pediatric preceptors). Preceptors for PCC Clinical Week and CBLC are given adjunct faculty appointments to the UNC SOM and receive access to the AHEC digital library (ADL). CBLC preceptors also receive payment for working with students.

Contact SOM to learn more.
