Hometown: Burke, VA
Undergraduate: College of William & Mary
Medical School: Thomas Jefferson University
What drew you to UNC?
The people! From interns to leadership. Everyone was very distinctly warm (even over Zoom) and shared that this was an important part of hospital culture at large. Quality of life and learning/career opportunities were also major factors in the decision.
What do you love most about the Triangle?
The trees! The hills! The relative lack of traffic! What’s not to love! I was looking for a smaller city with a moderate cost of living. It’s great to have quick access to three places that are all so distinct and interesting to explore.
What are your career aspirations?
Undifferentiated, but curious to start learning subspecialty anesthesiology. I’d like to teach and mentor in some capacity.
What is your go-to fun fact?
I have incidentally taken my geriatric shepherd mix, Lucy, to 26 states.
If you weren’t an anesthesiologist, what would you be?
I’d run an animal shelter or a board game bar. Maybe both?
