Dr. Dana Wiener is a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at UNC, where she works part-time in the General Division, GI Anesthesiology. As a generalist, Dr. Wiener focuses her time on Non-Operating Room Anesthesia (NORA).
Dr. Wiener grew up in New Jersey but calls North Carolina home. She came to NC in the 1980’s when tobacco was still roasting in downtown Durham. She completed her training at Duke University and spent much of her career in the other shade of blue at the Durham VA Healthcare System. She joined the UNC department during the pandemic and found a new Anesthesiology family. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and is happy to note that both of her adult children returned to North Carolina to begin their lives with partners and pandemic dogs.
