What do you do for fun?
Running, indoor cycling, hiking, and cooking
If I wasn’t an anesthesiologist, I would be…
A high school science teacher and cross-country coach.
What is your favorite thing about UNC or Chapel Hill?
I love living in a college-town (quiet, short commute to the hospital) without having to sacrifice on “bigger city” opportunities like more restaurants, shows, sporting events, etc. with Raleigh being so close by. As someone who tries to spend a lot of time outside, I also love the trees and hills in this area as well as having four seasons.
What is your favorite thing about coming to work every day?
Almost every time I speak with an attending about the plan for our cases the next day, they say something along the lines of, “I’m excited to work with you tomorrow – we’re going to have a great day!” I really appreciate their enthusiasm and joy in working with residents. Their support and positive attitude makes all the difference when I may be tired or nervous about the upcoming cases.
