What drew you to UNC?
I’ve never lived outside of Texas, so the natural beauty and scenery of North Carolina really drew me in. What truly sealed the deal, though, was the interview day—the faculty and administration really emphasized how deeply they support and care about their residents. Funny enough, when I was deciding on college years ago, I almost chose UNC, so it feels like things have come full circle now with me in Chapel Hill.
What do you love most about the Triangle?
Having never lived in the Triangle, I can’t say for certain. However, I’m really looking forward to some nice trail walks.
What are your career aspirations?
I’ve bought into being in school a little longer, so pursuing a fellowship feels pretty appealing. Right now, it’s hard to narrow down my options because so many of them seem exciting, but I’m really looking forward to seeing where the next few years take me.
What’s Your Go-To Fun Fact?:
I competed in pole vault in high school. I wasn’t great but I had a fun time.
If you weren’t an anesthesiologist, what would you be?
Either a high school teacher or a carpenter. Toss up for whichever one it is.
