Cammie Presler has been a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for over 23 years and a Registered Nurse for over 27 years. She is additionally certified in Pediatric Oncology. She has spent her career working with chronically ill children in specialty care including End Stage Renal Disease and her current position in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant. In this position, she received the UNC School of Medicine Faculty Award for Excellence in Nursing in Advanced Practice. She received her BSN and MSN from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interests have included adolescent decision making in chronic illness as well as the experience of hematopoietic stem cell sibling donors. She has served as a clinical preceptor and Adjunct Assistant Professor for the UNC School of Nursing for several years, working to mentor new nurses make the transition to advanced practice. A yoga practitioner since 2009, she became a yoga teacher at the advanced 500 hour level, including the study of restorative/therapeutic yoga. She has returned to The University of North Carolina to pursue her Doctorate of Nursing Practice to study introducing yoga and mindfulness techniques to new nurses to aid in their transition to practicing RNs and decrease the number of nurses who leave the profession early.

In addition to yoga, Cammie enjoys travel and music. She is an avid dog lover. She is married and has three very spoiled dogs.
