Silvio Antoniak

From my own lived experiences, I understand the importance of maintaining a safe, inclusive and diverse work environment. As a member of the LGBTQI+ community, as a first-generation high school and college graduate, I understand the still ongoing need to support underrepresented minorities in science. I will do my best to give all teammates a sense of belonging in my group. I strive to be a better ally, better mentor and better role model. I will further support the ideas of a just workplace when making personnel decisions for my group and during the initiation of new research collaborations. I will strive to assemble a diverse research group regarding but not limited to social economic status, age, educational background, veteran status, immigration status, nationality, race/ ethnicity, disability, gender and sexual identity.
