About

My previous research was in the field of bacterial pathogenesis including infections caused by  Bordetella pertussis and C. difficile, but I am currently a member of the teaching faculty involved in the educational mission of the University. As the SOM Microbiology Coil Director and the Director of the Microbiology Teaching Labs, I am heavily involved in medical education, teaching pre-clinical medical students and summer underrepresented pre-professional (medical, dental) students. In addition, I manage the undergraduate Microbiology labs and supervise the M&I department’s graduate student TAs.
