Tobacco Treatment Specialist

Charlie received his Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill in 2020. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Charlie provides evidenced-based tobacco cessation interventions to patients in the UNC Outpatient Tobacco Treatment program at the Family Medicine Clinic. He also works with the UNC Wellness at Work Program providing tobacco cessation services to Town of Chapel Hill employees and UNC Health employees. Charlie previously worked in community mental health and in outpatient mental health agencies with adults to address their substance use and mental health concerns. Charlie’s areas of interest include motivational interviewing, holistic approaches to wellness and recovery, and evidenced-based practice in substance use treatment.
