Preventive Medicine Resident

Ntiense A Inyang, MD, discovered her passion for global health equity as an undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill where she majored in Global Studies. Although she always desired to be a physician since childhood, she also had a passion for international relations and social justice. Her travels abroad in Asia, Europe, and West Africa showed her how the economy, politics, history, and global events are inextricably linked to people’s health. She then attended the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA where she was inducted into the AOA Honor Society. She completed 1.5 years of Internal Medicine training at UNC Hospitals, however, she found that her true calling lies in public health and health policy. Ntiense hopes to one day serve the World Health Organization in order to help standardize and elevate health care on a global scale. Her primary interest is to establish international norms to advance global health justice and create sustainable institutions that will rise to the challenge of ending health care inequities. She will pursue a Masters in Public Health at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. In her spare time, Ntiense enjoys training for half marathons, cooking Nigerian and other ethnic cuisines, baking cookies, traveling internationally, and visiting Disney World.
