Kristy Lee is a Certified Genetic Counselor and Research Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kristy received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, and she holds a Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She currently specializes in general adult and cancer genetics, with a particular focus in retinal disorders and hereditary coagulopathies in adults and children. She has been heavily involved in research studies examining the effectiveness and implementation of massively parallel sequencing technologies for hereditary cancer syndromes and a variety of genetic disorders since 2009. She has been involved with over 250 patients and family members enrolled in whole genome and exome studies and assists with analyses of whole exome sequencing data and novel gene discovery. She is also a member of the National Human Genome Research Institute’s Clinical Sequencing Exploratory Research Genetic Counselor Working Group.
