
The Department of Health Sciences faculty and staff came together on Wednesday for a fall department meeting.
During the meeting several faculty members were recognized for recent accomplishments:
- Jessica Cassidy – Awarded an R21 grant from the NIH
- Deidre Charity – Selected to participate on the UNC SOM Leadership in Academic Medicine Program (LAMP) next year
- Laurie Ray – Graduated from the APTA Fellowship in Higher Education Leadership, an intensive, 13-month long fellowship for leaders in physical therapy education
- Eileen Burker – 1 of 5 finalists for the UNC Faculty Mentor to Graduate Students Award, total of 257 nominations
- Joy Renner – Chairing the Committee on University Government
- Susan Taylor – Steeples of Excellence Passion Mini-Grant, UNC/Novant Health Partnership
- Lauren Selingo – Named UNC Thorp Faculty engaged scholar
- Sara Pena – Steeples of Excellence Passion Mini-Grant, UNC/Novant Health Partnership
- Katie Zisk – Accepted into the 2025 UNC Summer Institute for Teaching and Learning
- Clare Harrop
- Accepted into the Leadership Journeys program run by the Center for Faculty Excellence
- Awarded Organization for Autism Research Applied Research Grant focused on perimenopause in autism.
- Appointed as Editor to the journal Autism
