Areas of Interest
Krystal's current research interests include adult neurogenic communication disorders, Aphasia, Dysarthria and Apraxia of Speech diagnosis and rehabilitation, cognitive-communication disorders following long COVID, TBI, and stroke, patient-centered care in speech-language pathology, the FOURC model and functional/participation-based rehabilitation, communication partner training and environmental supports, goal writing and clinical decision-making in speech-language pathology, mixed methods research in rehabilitation sciences, and clinical education and mentorship in speech-language pathology.
