I work in the ‘first thousand days’ – pregnancy through 2 years of age, on observation and longitudinal research, including interventions, to improve maternal and infant/toddler outcomes. In NC, prevention of pediatric obesity begins in the first two years of life. We are beginning an intervention, Mothers and Others: Family Based Obesity Prevention for Infants and Toddlers, which will begin in pregnancy.
