IMPACT Center
The Improving Provider Announcement Communication Training (IMPACT) Center is supported by a $11.6 million grant from the National Cancer Institute. HPV vaccination prevents 6 types of cancers. However, uptake is far short of the Healthy People 2020 goal of 80%.
Provider recommendations are one of the most potent influences on HPV vaccine uptake, but primary care teams and healthcare systems face barriers to effective HPV vaccine communication. The Center will evaluate ways to improve HPV vaccine communication by enhancing the impact of the Announcement Approach Training (AAT) in healthcare systems.
- Center Aim 1. Identify opportunities to improve HPV vaccine communication.
- Center Aim 2. Evaluate the impact and cost of HPV vaccine communication interventions in cluster RCTs.
- Center Aim 3. Support implementation of HPV vaccine communication interventions in healthcare systems.
