Ayham Abdel is a fourth-year medical student from Garner, NC who is pursuing anesthesiology. He became interested in quality improvement after completing a QI project during his community based longitudinal care rotation. He is currently working with Dr. Sam Blacker, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Medical Director of Anesthesiology Support Services, on an initiative to reduce PACU holds and OR delays through implementation of a Phase II Fast-Track policy. The project team includes anesthesiology attendings, residents, and nursing leadership.
