Heather Swain is a fourth-year medical student from Rougemont, NC applying into internal-medicine and pediatrics (Med-Peds). Heather is a first-generation college student now navigating medical school, and her experience as a patient and family member had a large impact on her interest in healthcare quality improvement. This year, she is excited to be working on a project with Dr. Will Stoudemire on a project to improve the rates of screening for cystic fibrosis-related diabetes at our UNC CF Clinic, one of the preeminent centers for cystic fibrosis care in the country.
