Julia Kessel is a fourth-year medical student from Hickory, NC. Julia previously completed a quality improvement project focused on increasing funding available for point of care ultrasound machines in primary care. This year as a Clinician Leadership in Quality and Safety (CLQS) Scholar, she is working with Jennifer Woody, Nurse Practioner in the UNC Department of Orthopaedics, on the pre-operative optimization of patients undergoing Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgery.
