The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) awarded UNC Medical Center Department of Pharmacy an Innovator Award for implementing the drug vial optimization program, an innovative strategy for drug delivery that led to significant positive financial, safety, and clinical outcomes.

The Program for Precision Medicine in Health Care, led by UNC School of Medicine with $10 million in funding from UNC Health Care system, will be a collaborative effort to translate genomic technologies and data analytics into clinical care for UNC Health Care patients.

Co-founded by Innovation Council member Dr. Seth Glickman, Bivarus utilizes an analytical algorithm to develop targeted patient experience surveys, increasing patient participation by 5x.

UNC Health Care is testing a new Health Records section of Apple’s Health app. Patients can download their electronic health record data (including ‘My UNC Chart’) and integrate this information with Apple’s existing data management features.

The UNC Center for Health Innovation is included in a new list of 58 Hospitals and Health Systems with Innovation Programs, published by Becker’s Hospital Review. This is the third year in a row that the Center has been included on Becker’s list.
