About

Dr. Terry Gordon describes his education at North Carolina A&T after not getting into UNC pharmacy, his MBA at the U. of Indiana, and his military career. He traded his military career to prepare to go to medical school at UNC. There, he described the support he received from the MED program, faculty, and students. As a resident in Ann Arbor, he had to deal with a stalker, and ultimately moved to Minnesota to finish his residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Shortly after completing his residency, he became Associate Medical Director at a hospital in Orlando right for a short year, then returned to Ann Arbor, where he stayed and worked for the next 30 years. He concludes the interview with a critique of rapid change in electronic medical systems and lessons he’s learned about how being a Black physician mattered to his patients and community.
