Skit Night

Skit Night is one of UNC SOM’s most beloved student traditions. Each class competes for the Golden Humerus by showcasing creativity through pre-recorded:

  • Skits
  • Videos animations
  • Musical performances
  • Dance, comedy, or creative multimedia
  • Class-wide collaborative acts

This annual event celebrates medical student culture and the community. Come support your classmates and enjoy an unforgettable night!

Important Guidelines for Participants

Key Points

1. Submission Requirements

  • Each class has up to 30 minutes for their performance and must stay within their time limit.
  • Skits/videos must be submitted by March 8, 2026 at 11:59pm
  • Review guidelines for maximum video length
  • File format: MP4 or MOV
  • Submissions must follow UNC professionalism standards
  • Submissions can be emailed to ms4chiefadvocate@gmail.com

2. Content Expectations

  • Humor encouraged, unprofessional content is not
  • Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or patient-related content
  • Respect faculty, staff, and classmates
  • No real patient information or clinical settings that risk PHI exposure, but UNC SIM center can be used

3. Judging Criteria

  • Creativity
  • Cohesiveness
  • Presentation quality
  • Audience engagement
  • Professionalism

4. Awards

  • Golden Humerus: Best overall class performance!!
  • Additional awards: “Best Video,” “Best Musical Act,” etc.
