Medicine Grand Rounds Blythe Lecture, Donald Wesson “The Evolving Spectrum of Acid Stress and Its Contribution to Chronic Kidney Disease”
February 7 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This lecture will convey our expanding understanding of how the accumulation of body acid occurs and its detrimental effects on kidney function. Dr. Wesson will discuss how these findings are being translated into new, possibly disease-modifying treatments for chronic kidney disease.
Donald Wesson is President of the Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center, Senior Vice President of Baylor Scott & White Weight Management Services, and Professor of Medicine at Texas A&M University College of Medicine.
Every one to three years, the Division of Nephrology and Kidney Center invites a lecturer to honor the memory of Dr. William Blythe, II. Dr. Blythe, the first Division Chief for Nephrology and Hypertension at UNC, was an outstanding physician-scientist and teacher who inspired many of us to pursue nephrology. He was also a gifted man of letters.
